Commonly Asked Questions
Request a QuoteAll of our remote Paramedics provided are credentialed – EMT Paramedic. We teach them a yearly advanced clinical refresher skills course to include a full review of required paramedic skills, such as: cardiac emergencies, respiratory emergencies, neurological emergencies, environmental emergencies, etc. Our Medical Director and our staff concentrate specifically on Case Management, and all types of occupational medical services. Our Physicians work closely with our operations group to continuously improve our protocols and processes that result in optimum patient care and aggressive case management for our clients.
We also have a mandatory 40 hours RMC class once per year, taught in three sessions, that gives our field staff the support and training they need to stay on the top of their game. Our Physicians help to develop the curriculum, and delivers most of the lectures in each session.
What services do your personnel provide specifically? Dispensing meds. OTC / Prescription etc.? AED Training? Just for example.
Our Paramedics provide advanced clinical skills which are vital to the remote work environment. These skills include, but are not limited to: advanced trauma care, advanced cardiac life support, CPR, simple suturing, antibiotic therapy, clinical assessment, advanced eye injury and illness diagnosis and treatment, advanced ENT diagnosis and treatment, advanced venous access skills, advanced pharmacology, surgical emergency airways, burn care, chemical exposure and hazardous chemicals, etc. (We basically operate as an Emergency and Occupational Medicine clinic offshore) As a certified gold training center, we also offer onsite AED training and or additional medical training at request.
What types of medical kits do they have on hand while on the offshore locations?
All Pharma-Safe Industrial Services medical equipment is chosen for its portability. This allows the paramedic to bring all needed equipment with him quite easily if he is transporting by helicopter or boat.
The Medical Equipment Package contains all of the necessary medications, equipment, and supplies to allow our paramedic to perform all remote paramedic duties. Our package covers all hardware, all routine maintenance and upkeep, inspection and inventory, and the replacement of all medications and supplies.
Can they provide other services if needed? Answering phones, transportation dispatching, acting as platform clerks? ( I am aware they already do our platform orientations for us)
Our goal is to effectively combine our background as Paramedics in day to day needed skills such as clerical (platform clerk) and safety (safety compliance.)
Unfortunately, we have repeatedly found that the value of having a combo Safety Tech/Paramedic onboard is not fully appreciated until a true emergency arises. Beyond this, we all know that emergencies rarely occur and Paramedics are only of use when an emergency actually does occur, so our challenge is to be of value with other skills to justify cost of having us onboard. No doubt there are many clerical and safety related duties to perform on a daily and weekly basis. Paramedics are inherently capable of adapting to different circumstances and are generally educated and trainable. Utilizing non paramedic skill sets on a daily basis to your advantage is our ultimate challenge as every location has different needs.
